Group Support vs. Rehabilitation

with one comment

Many argure that there are strong differences between which of the two can provide better help for one seeking recovery. Many often ask themselves what they can do to get better and struggle with the thought of having to go away to a rehabilition center, while leaving their family behind now with the knowledge they might not have had before, of your development of an addiction. This leaves family members to worry, kids to possibly be left parentless for a period of time, and mothers and fathers wondering where they went wrong?

When realizing that you do in fact have a addiction problem, whatever type it may be, you are now faced with these thoughts. What should I do? Who can I turn to?

Rehabilitation offers a higher success rate than traditional group supports, and provides a much more in-depth step that can be a difficult stage to go through. While support groups aim for a more personal/spiritual approach to recovery, rehab tends to be much different. Though you would save financially by not going to rehab, many group support members argue that if one can stay with the program that group support lays out for each of its members, the success rate becomes much higher, even matching the level modern-day rehabilitation.

Consider all of your options closely with family and/or friends and see what the best decision may be. Considering your decisions wisely are the key to reaching your recovery goals. While always keeping faith in yourself, your addiction can become your recovery and your road to personal success can be achieved! Keep your head up and the more you keep reaching for that light at the end of the tunnel, the faster it will come.
